Successful Trial leads to Permanent Free Archive Access
In response to the successful free-access trial campaign that occurred during this summer’s International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) meeting in San Francisco, CA, CIG Media Group will now permanently open up its archives of Clinical Lung Cancer.
Going forward, all archived content of the regular journal issues and the supplement issues of Clinical Lung Cancer will be available for free to all online users. For the first 12 months after publication, the content will be available to individual and institutional subscribers for a fee and to individual users on a pay-per-view basis.
“Opening the archives of Clinical Lung Cancer will make almost 10 years of clinically relevant content available to our readers. When we offered free access to the peer-reviewed articles during IASLC, we saw an immediate 55% increase in our online usage. We want to continue offering that value to our audience and providing additional exposure to authors,” says Jasper Simons, Vice President and Publisher of CIG Media Group, LP.
Clinical Lung Cancer was the first publication by CIG Media Group, LP, and was launched in August 1999. The journal has proven to be an excellent communicator of scholarly information, as evidenced by an initial ISI Impact Factor of 2.393.
